The new anti-aging skincare line Elastin-rp, from BioActive Skin Technologies LLC, is a specially formulated three-step regimen that is designed to help reverse elastin loss, a source of skin aging. Elastin is considered the “rubber band” fibers that help to keep skin youthful, firm and plump. The skincare treatment is used to stimulate skin’s own elastin production, according to the company. Elastic-rp contains the company’s BioLastin Complex, a proprietary seven-layered complex of ingredients.

“The skin loses its ability to produce elastin by about age 25. Subsequently, the effects of aging due to the loss of elastin accelerate significantly after age 40,” said board-certified plastic surgeon Jon Perlman, MD FACS. “Stimulating the skin’s natural ability to produce elastin allows the skin to function like it did at 25.”

The line is packaged in bright white and blue tubes with blue caps for a crisp and clean look. The three-step regimen includes Deep Cleansing Gel ($28/4.2 oz.) to cleanse; Intensive Treatment Serum to rebuild ($89/1.7 oz.); and Replenishing Day Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 ($80/1.7 oz.) and Replenishing Night Cream ($80/1.7 oz.).
